Up On My Soap Box: Sports Announcers

Now because this is America I can have any opinion I want. And because this is my blog I can put my opinions out in cyberspace.

So let me just say that I CAN'T STAND Pierre McGuire. Who is this Pierre that makes your blood boil? Well when the NHL is on NBC a lot of times good old P.M. does commentating from in between the benches. Now I'm sure he has some degree in something to get that job. However he is (IN MY OPINION) stupid and biased. When the Penguins are playing he can't seem to come up with one nice thing to say about them as if they have never won a game ever. And they could be playing the team from the Mighty Ducks movies and I would imagine he would see all-star potential in several of their players. Now I realize there is bias in sports, I would rather watch a game on VS than on Comcast Philly because I know there will be bias. However if you are broadcasting a nationally televised game try to leave that at home. As far as his stupidity he made a comment that the Rangers were smart to get Sean Avery back. Avery is the player who sat in front of goaltender Martin Broduer waving his arms to distract him. The league installed a rule against it the very next day. Saying Avery is a good pickup is like saying the Bills made a good pickup in Terrell Owens. Sure they can both play well but do you want the nonsense that goes with them.

And as I think also of the NFL, maybe it's just me but I am sick and tired of John Madden. Fine he knows football, but I don't need someone to use the telestrater to diagnose what is in a trash can on the side lines.

Now I admit they probably do a better job than I would however there has got to be other qualified people to fill in after we let them go. How about between the glass with Jennifer Aniston or Monday Night Football with Marissa Miller. Just a suggestion.

And finally lets remember people THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, you are entitled to yours even though I may disagree.
