Am I REALLY a Picky Eater?

I have recently been called a "picky eater" and I am not sure if that label applies to me. The reason I believe it was stated is because I don't like, no wait that's not strong enough, because I DESPISE onions. Let me just state for the record that there are a few things on my personal VMD (Vegetables of Mass Disgust) list but I do enjoy a wide range of veggies. Such as...

Cauliflower, Broccoli, Corn, Carrots, Green Beans, Potatoes, Beets, Yams, Mushrooms, Spinach, Asparagus and my personal favorite Brussel Sprouts.

But because I will not let certain veggies into my system all of the sudden I am a picky eater. We all have things we don't like. As for me it wouldn't bother me if certain vegetables were made extinct. I would say goodbye to the Peppers, Lima Beans, Peas and of course the dreaded Onion.

Also if I found out that my friend was coming over for dinner I would not cook a dish with something they hate in it just to try and get them to enjoy it. I have been tested many times and have found the onion on (I figure) almost all of the occasions.

I would not say you are a picky eater for not liking Brussel Sprouts, but since I don't like Onions I am some sort of freak. Well I say Onion Haters Unite! We can defeat these vegetables if we band together! Ask not what your taste buds can do for you ask what you can do for you taste buds!

  1. Oh jeez, I guess I was the catalyst for this post. I apologize for calling you a picky eater. I admit I am one! I just thought I recognized another member of the club! I promise not to serve anything with onions or peppers in it on Sunday! I would never do that to anyone cause I would not want it done to me.

  2. Can't say you are a picky eater - you always ate my food... but I believe in the process probably may have eaten some onions - I have a hard time cooking without them... sorry
