Beware 80's Self Help Slogan
Recently at the Church I attend (LCBC) we went through a series about Solomon. We talked about how Solomon had it all. I mean he had it ALL! Check it out he was RICH (beyond Bill Gates) and he was WISE (still considered by many the wisest man ever). And yet as Solomon went about experiencing every worldly pleasure he came to the conclusion that it is all is meaningless under the sun like chasing after the wind. Out of that series I took a simple phrase that has helped me many times already. Now it sounds a little self help seminar-ish but I have found when faced with a decision or a situation, it helps me to say the phrase. And that phrase is "Trust God, Do Good, Enjoy Life". Simple, yes. Well it has helped me so I share it with you. I wouldn't think of taking the credit. I heard this several times throughout this series. And whoever thought it up, I think they would say that the real author is God himself. God wants us to be happy and for me if I can stay on the right path I will be happy. This is just another tool in the arsenal. It may work for you it may not but I think the key point is find something that works, and don't stop using it.
