This week we start with a sad but funny movie "Marley and Me" starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. They play a couple who take care of Marley the clearance puppy. Marley is very energetic and therefore hilarious. However this story goes where most dog stories do. I'm just glad I didn't see it later or I may have gotten emotional. 4 penguins.
Next we have "Vanishing Point" starring Viggo Mortensen. Viggo plays a driver who is away from his wife when she goes into labor with complications. He does everything he can to make it back in time. Avoiding cops and getting some unusual help along the way. The 1971 version was a lot better. 3 penguins.
Then we have "Suppose they gave a War and Nobody Came". This is the story about an Army base at war with a town. On the side of the Army we have Don Ameche, Brian Keith, Tony Curtis and Ivan Dixon. On the town's side we have Ernest Borgnine among others. It is a lot of laughs with a slightly disappointing ending. 4 penguins.
Last is "State of Play" with Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck. When Ben's intern is murdered his "friend" Crowe begins to write a story for his paper. However things are never black and white (and read all over). 5 penguins.
